First of all, I love this painting, especially the neck.
"I’m learning to let things go, let things be, rest in longer and longer gaps between the noise and the silence..." This gap is so magical. To me, it feels like process, space, and creation, and silence.
I had not heard of KLF, so I'm definitely going to listen to them!
You verbalized so much of what I also think re: authenticity and getting lost in the noise. Thank you for your words. This reads like an embodiment of your point and your art.
Ah thank you so much Nisha, I really appreciate your feedback. I totally resonate with your description of the gap, it is truly magical, however and maybe because of its fleeting nature. And silence, yes yes yes, so vital to finding our way out of the noise and back to ourselves xx
This just made my day! So thankful that you wrote and shared this with us. It has restored my belief in some work that I have been pushing back for years, thinking it's not befitting to what works today.
I think its sad, and troubling, and dangerous how social media and algorithms has made my generation chase 'what works' instead of what we want to work on.
Ah that's really affirming to hear, likewise thanks for sharing. The power of vulnerability and honesty, right?! I agree, the slipslide into patterned behaviour is one that needs to be resisted. Your reframe is great - let's focus on what we want to work on rather than what (others tell us) works.
Wow wow wow, I love this so much!

Haha, yes. Vulnerability is contagious. And I only find it on Substack. And yeah, lets do that. "The way in is way out."
